My love of greyhounds took off in 2008 with my first dog Jaydee. I went on to manage the Northside of Brisbane for a rehoming group for retired racers, and acquired a few extras of my own along the way, including a young pup by the name of Pumpkin, who would be my first competition dog and how I met Sam.

In 2012, I started training Pumpkin under Sam’s guidance and went on to have a successful career with her in a variety of sports including agility, obedience and lure coursing. My current greyhound is Cherry and I also own a Border Collie by the name of Snowy – yes, I have gone to the dark-side!

I have been competing and training for over 10 years with Sam and together we have the first greyhound in the country who is an Agility Champion, as well as a Show Champion and a Lure Coursing Champion.

Sam

Born in South Africa, I came to Australia at the age of 10 with my parents and younger brother. My mum was a world leading Vet Dermatologist in South Africa, and semi-retired from the industry upon arriving here. From a young age I have always had an involvement with animals, particularly dogs, due to my mother’s profession.

I went on to do vet nursing and obtained a Certificate III In Dog Behaviour and Training with the National Dog Trainers Federation. I was also lucky enough to train with Steve Austin, who is at the forefront of dog training in Australia.

I have been grooming as well as showing, training, and competing dogs for nearly 20 years, and have a love for double coated breeds, in particular the Border Collie, currently owning five of them. I compete just about every weekend, and the dogs love getting out and working their bodies and brains.
